Rob Zombie
topZOMBIE

Born in Haverill, MA.

Creator and brainchild of White Zombie.

Mr. Zombie is an accomplished graphic artist and designer with many works to his credit.

Directed and Produced Ozzy Osbourne's Dreamer video, January, 2002.

Rob Zombie was born Rob Cummings, but in 1985 he took up the stage name Rob Straker because Rob Cummings didn't sound cool. In the early 90s, Rob changed his name to Zombie.

Rob and Sheri have a Pug(that's a dog) named Dracula.

Rob has a one-eyed rat named Sammy (after Sammy Davis Jr.). - Danielle's Web Page
Update: Sammy has passed on. A moment of silence please. *bows head*

Rob has (or had?) a 1975 Black, four-door Nova. - Danielle's Web Page

Composed the Quake II theme, apparently for free(see below). Could this mean that Rob is a Quake II fan? =)

October 10th, 1998: "Brian Hook updated his .plan a few months ago stating that Rob Zombie (lead singer for White Zombie) sent id a really kick ass music track for the intro to the game, and they might be using that for the intro. His contribution is in the final game. Trent Reznor, although rumoured at first, hasn't worked on Quake II." :Quake II FAQ

Rob was a production assistant on "Pee-Wee's playhouse" and did layouts for magazines. He also drew the Beavis and Butthead scene , where Beavis eats a Peyotte and starts hallucinating. - Danielle's Web Page

"Favorite Movies: Clockwork Orange, Blade Runner, Night of the Living Dead, The Omega Man, Faster Pussycat Kill! Kill!, White Zombie: The Haunting, Dawn of the Dead, The Mummy, Plan 9 From Outer Space, and Hellraiserzz" - Danielle's Web Pagetop

"KILLING SPREE
«Terror From Beyond Space»
Napalm Records America
rating: 5 of 6
This band first caught my intriguing with its line-up featuring Rob Nicholson (ex-cult speed / core metal band CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER) and bassist Vince Dennis (who has worked in the past with PRONG). Though some of you may be familiar with the two aforementioned acts, I must say that KILLING SPREE comes off sounding nothing like the two, as they maintain their own unique blend of pseudo industrial influenced death metal. Sometimes reminiscent to the likes of WHITE ZOMBIE, though still far from it, KILLING SPREE bombard the listener with a variety of sound samples, effects, heavy guitars, and powerful tribals (sometimes deviating from the conventional drum kit). This CD has a high quality production with a pristine and tight sound. To further add to the unique nature of this band, there is a mild concept involved regarding alien invasion and abduction themes... incorporating 1950's theatrical themes and modern reports (i.e., alien autopsy, etc). This is emphasized with the interesting packaging (sometimes humorous though still dramatic) and the blunt design of the 'schwa' alien head icon on the CD (in textured print!). I must say that this is a superb release and I feel it can compare and compete with the larger bands of the genre. A well produced effort from this talented group of individual musicians. Played for Drown
tip submitted by Ali top

Blasko joined Prong right after Drown. Prong broke up shortly after, so he and Tommy Victor both joined Danzig for the Blackacidevil Tour. Blasko quit soon after to join Zombie. MisFitsCentral.com

Blasko played 5 string bass and sang lead vocals for Suffer(date unknown).

Blasko played for Danzig - SE, '97 to AP, '98

September 1997: Rob Nicholson of Prong and Dave Cushner of Wasted Youth were announced as the new members of Danzig. MisFitsCentral.com

April 1998: Because Danzig was not touring or recording, Rob Nicholson soon left the band to join Rob Zombie's band as "Blasko." MisFitsCentral.com

Before Danzig, Rob Nicholson played bass for Suffer, Drown, and Prong. Rob left Danzig to tour with Rob Zombie, using the name "Blasko". MisFitsCentral.com

White Zombie Facts:top

Members:
Rob Zombie - vocals /synth /direction /production /composition
Sean Yseult(Shauna Reynolds) - bass
Jay Yuenger - guitar
Ivan dePrume - drums

Original Band Members:
"Our junior year, Rob meet Sean Yseult, who was also going to Parsons but was in the Graphic and Communications Department. They hit it off as boyfriend/girlfriend and moved into an apartment on the lower eastside of NYC. He came up with the idea for the band here in 1985 and found a guitarist named Ena Kostabi, and a drummer named Peter Landau, and Sean was on bass. They did the single "Gods on Voodoo Moon" ( I have a copy) Side A: "King of Souls" and "Gentleman Junkie," Side B: "Tales from the Scarecrowman" and "Cat's Eye Resurrection." It was recorded 10/18/85 at Batcave Studios in NYC. I also have a demo tape done at the same time that includes a few other songs: "Black Friday," "Dead or Alive." But after that they didn't do much more. Rob was dissatisfied with the drummer and the guitarist was a real screw-up (into serious drugs), so Rob got rid of them both." - Tim Jeffs

White Zombie is named after the 1932 cult classic horror White Zombie
